Heartwarming documentary feature The Jewish Jail Lady and the Holy Thief, about the history of Beit T’Shuvah, the renowned non-profit drug and alcohol treatment organization in Los Angeles, has won the Best Documentary award at the recently concluded Santa Barbara Jewish Film Festival.

The doc tells the story of Beit T'Shuvah founders Harriet Rossetto and her husband, Rabbi Mark Borovitz, who have dedicated their lives to help addicts. The feature premiered at the Los Angeles-based Dances with Films Festival in June 2022. The next screening will take place in Phoenix on December 11, sponsored by Valley Beit Midrash and Congregation Beth El.

Rabbi Mark Borovitz and Harriet Rossetto were on KESQ News Channel 3’s Eye on the Desert in May to promote Rabbi Mark’s book signings which were held at Barnes and Noble, 79840 HWY 111 in Palm Desert inside The Shops at Palm Desert (formerly Westfield Mall).

Rabbi Mark signed “Finding Recovery and Yourself in Torah” and “The Holy Thief”. Books are available at Barnes and Noble stores at on their web site Barnes & Noble and also at Amazon.

Radio Times, the best-selling BBC published weekly magazine and also on-line, printed an item in today’s on-line edition.
